How to add different filter presets for specific categories

Welcome to Product Filter for WooCommerce video guide.

This video will cover how to use different filters for each of your product categories, subcategories or even tags and characteristics in the Product Filter plugin.

To start this tutorial navigate to Product Filter plugin and then the Filter Presets tab.

You first need to create a filter preset that you want to use on your categories.

Click new and set a simple name for you preset. I will name it preset-test and add a product category, color and size filter.

Hit save and go to the Presets Manager tab. Here you will see two settings, one is for categories and the other for tags. In this tutorial, I shall focus on the categories.

Under the Product Categories Presets option, click the Add Item+ button.

Enter a name for your override and under the Term option, choose a term, I will set my Clothing category.

Now under preset option, choose a filter preset which you want to use on that category I will select the preset that I’ve just made.

Let’s go to the shop page, and if we click the Alarm’s Clock category you shall see that the color and size filters appear that I’ve made in my preset.

  1. Hi, I tried following these directions but it will not save. I checked the error console and it threw this error: “svx-admin.js?ver=7.0.4:230 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set property ‘taxonomy’ of undefined”

    1. Hi, thanks for the comment! We’ve had some troubles with these versions. Update to 7.0.6 which is the current release and it should go away. Use the Help Center and the My Support Tickets page if you still experience the same issues.
